How to enjoy around Mine city

We’re looking forward to seeing many people come visiting our city! The atmosphere here is totally different from the one in big cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto. We shall share some tips on traveling around Mine City. Please note the following points.

Plan in advance.

he transportation to/within/from MINE is very limited. Buses, local trains, shared taxis (only on weekdays) are available but are all very few. Regular taxis are not commonly used for long rides. Akiyoshidō Cave and a part of Akiyoshidai Plateau are located near the bus terminal. The rest of the places, however, are scattered all over the city that you will need to take another bus or use other means of transportation. We highly recommend that you make a plan with reference to the access page so that you are able to reach your destinations of the day. Renting a bicycle at the tourist information center or a car in Shin-Yamaguchi would be a good option.

Bring cash.

There are no place for cash withdraw and foreign currency exchange such as banks, ATMs, and convenience stores around the tourist sites. Furthermore, Public transportation, most hotels, and shops accept only cash. You definitely need to prepare Japanese Yen to come here!

Bear with the poor or no internet-connection environment in some places.

The internet is available in limited area/places such as the tourist information center and Geo Park Center. Enjoy the internet-detox environment!
If you may not be able to live in an environment without Wi-Fi, please rent a pocket Wi-Fi in advance. (Yamaguchi Free Wi-Fi Premium is available in the tourist information center)

Be ready for less diversity sensitivity in food

You may have difficulty in finding food if you follow a specific dietary rule or habit (Halal, Kosher, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) as compared to other places in Japan. Please refer to the FOOD page to check the available menu. Please contact us in case of any queries.
